- Some folks here are saying that Linux is irrelevant! Nothing could be more flat-out wrong!

 Over ninety percent of the world's supercomputers use Linux as their primary OS. There's good reason for that! Scientists, engineers, and other people who really count choose Linux over Windows...if you're doing something really important, then you need reliability...you need a UNIX-based OS like Linux or BSD. Not to leave out IBM, which sells some truly superb OSes...but these are geared toward finance and government.
If you're someone who is good at what you do, would you really want to trust crucial scientific, engineering and financial work to a malware-prone, bug-ridden, and slow MS Operating system with a reputation for putting profit before reliability? Be honest now!
Linux is good, really good considering it is mostly free! -
